Shedding Light On The Subject

Looking back on pictures drawn, I ponder on the many "miles" I have logged casting shadows. I learned to darken, shade and blur my way to artistic expression on clean white paper and canvas and vibed that  way for many nights. I was in desperate search of a more positive emotion as I thought of the innocence I was corrupting when smudging my charcoal and blending stump across the purity of each white space. And then it hits me! Dude this is getting depressing! So I grabbed a darker paper and began experimenting. I thought if I could only transform my old ways and spread light instead of darkness. Or at least find a balance you know? I captured a few of these moments on brown and black paper and will share more as a continue my journey shedding light on the subject. It's like painting the night sky with moonlight. Now I'm sure I will still find myself splashing about in color or even casting shadows again in the future, but for now, you can find me dancing in the moonlight.
